North Shropshire’s decision to deploy Serengeti Systems software followed a rigorous procurement process which recognised that e-Intranet is one of the most advanced EDRMS systems currently installed throughout the demanding local government market. Integration to various back office systems and Public Access was also a key criteria for North Shropshire in choosing Serengeti Software.
The initial project focused on the Planning Dept and went live in October 2007, this included the back-scanning of all existing planning documents; Stuart Thomas, Head of Development Control at NSDC said “the council is really pleased with the new system and we are seeing the benefits already. The professional manner in which Serengeti Systems integrated the system and trained users meant that there was very little disruption to the department as the system went live. ”
It is now anticipated that Environmental Services will be the first to follow with e-intranet in 2008. Serengeti System’s well developed implementation methodology means that minimal disruption is caused to council business as the system is installed.
