Module: Overseas Student
The UK Border Authority is in the process of changing the legislation covering how Student Visas are issued and managed. Currently the onus is on the student and the immigration authority to ensure that all procedures are followed.
As from March 2009 the legislation will change requiring all Universities and Colleges to become sponsoring authorities. The University or College will need to register with the Border Authority to become a sponsoring authority and to agree to comply with a number of new requirements.
One of the key changes in the registration process for Overseas Students is that it will now be the responsibility of the Sponsor to ensure that accurate records are maintained for the duration that the Student is in the UK.

- Volumes of documents captured, received, generated
- Exception reports showing missing documents
- Review dates and reminders for staff to request further/copies of documents
